In the heart of theRegional Nature Park of the Landes de Gascogne, the commune of Parentis en Born is the third-largest in the Born area after Mimizan and Biscarrosse. Formerly known as the “Land of Black Gold”, Parentis is now a seaside resort that forms the gateway to the Landes region. Traces of its past are dotted around the town centre. Here you can find ancient pumps which, while no longer in use, have survived to the present day. The Roland Portalier Arena is also an important part of the town’s historic heritage. In fact, it’s the only arena in the northern Landes.

These days, the town welcomes many visitors. Fishing is very widely practised here thanks to the town’s superb location. The lake that borders the town is a real treasure for travellers looking for the simple pleasures of nature. And many outdoor activities are available on this lake. In particular, the watersports centres organise kayaking, canoeing and sailing.

You can also go surfing and ride the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Make the most of this idyllic setting with all the outdoor sports on offer.

You can discover the surroundings of the commune on the numerous cycle paths. Ride along the long sandy beaches, or through the majestic pine forests in the Regional Nature Park of the Landes de Gascogne.

Reserve your place on our campsite at Parentis-en-Born now for a holiday in the great outdoors, between land and sea. A real haven of greenery for a revitalising holiday.
