Camping at Bidart and the charming Basque coast

Bidart is a small town to the South of Biarritz boasting two campsites, including the three-star Erreka campsite. Here you’ll find a heated pool, a restaurant-bar, a launderette and much more, and you’ll also have Wi-Fi access.

The second campsite is Le Ruisseau des Pyrenees. This five-star campsite is found very close to the beach. It has a kids’ club and an indoor heated pool. There are many sporting facilities on site, including a heated pool. There are also several places to eat, including a restaurant-bar. You’ll also have optional Wi-Fi access here. The Basque coast is famous for its warm climate all year round, and so camping is always pleasant here.

Bidart, an ideal base camp in the heart of the Basque Country

A stay in one of our Bidart campsites will let you savour a unique location next to Biarritz and Bayonne. You can also enjoy the beaches that made Biarritz’s reputation, like the Miramar beach or the Grande Plage. Indeed, the Atlantic Ocean is famous for its high waves, which make this town one of the best surfing sites in France, if not the world.

A famous heritage

Biarritz has a rich history, which is preserved in its architecture: this coastal resort really took off during the Second Empire, and many buildings here date from this time. For example, there is Biarritz Lighthouse, as well as the Villa Eugenie, built by Napoleon III for his wife. The Casino Municipal made the town’s reputation, and inevitably features in every film that is set in Biarritz. But the region of Biarritz, like the rest of the Basque Country, is also famous for its produce. Bayonne and its famous ham is just a few miles away, so why not go and tickle your tastebuds?
