2 km from the campsite is the town of Marina di Campo, renowned for its charming fishing port and its 1.5 km of soft sandy beach. It's Elba’s biggest resort, boasting numerous attractions and excursions, and delightful cafes and restaurants for leisurely village strolls.
Surrounding the campsite and the town is a vast and fragrant pine forest, to be explored by foot or by bike, making it the perfect spot for a picnic. Enjoy the beautiful coastline on a boat trip, fun for all the family.
Take the time to wander through the ancient village of Marina di Campo and its alleyways, before heading towards the Torre, a 13th-century tower at the village edge, overlooking the bay.
You can also visit the granite Roman columns, remnants from a time when the village supplied stones for Rome's palaces. Guided tours are available in the summer months to give you a fuller picture of all the local history (and prehistory).
The small island of Pianosa also makes for a fascinating guided tour, which is in the Tuscan Archipelago National Park. You'll truly feel like you're stepping back in time with the ancient landscape and old prison.
