Outdoor enthusiasts can take full advantage of the River Tarn for canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding and fishing. The lovely area immediately around the campsite is ideally explored on foot, bicycle, horseback, or even in the air if you want to try paragliding!
One of Millau’s most iconic attractions is its viaduct, a monumental construction by architect Norman Foster and chief engineer Michel Virlogeux. When you drive over it in your car, you’ll be treated to a bird’s eye view over the whole Tarn valley. At the Museum of Millau and the Grands Causses, you can discover some of the historical activities that made the region’s reputation, such as tawing (a special method of tanning animal hides), glove-making and pottery.
You can also stroll through the remarkable French gardens of the Hotel de Sambucy. A little further on, you can explore the valley and gorges of the Tarn and admire the chaotic rocky landscape of Montpellier-le-Vieux, a labyrinth of rock formations unlike any other in Europe.
