The village of Barcarès stands 22km to the North of Perpignan, right in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees. You’ll surely be charmed by its colourful markets and beaches. Come and  spend an unforgettable camping holiday in Languedoc-Roussillon, in the heart of nature, on one of our 3 campsites at Barcarès.

Camping at Barcarès

Whether you prefer to stay among the pines or next to the sea, you’ll easily find a campsite to suit you around Barcarès. Travel light thanks to the mobile homes at our Embouchure and Floride campsites. Journey into fairytale landscapes and enjoy entertainment right on the campsite. Daydream next to the swimming pool on our La Palmeraie campsite: water games, hot tubs and a solarium will delight children and adults alike.

A bit of history: the commune of Barcarès

The commune of Barcarès has a long fishing tradition. Its port was built in the 17th century and welcomed in many luxury commodities like oil, salt, fish and fruit.

Must-sees

The beaches at Barcarès are breathtaking. The Mediterranean stretches as far as the eye can see. With forests, lakes and beaches, Barcarès has a spring in its step. Close to the border with Spain, its culture is distinctly Catalan. Its cuisine, festivals and traditions are resolutely Southern.

What to do at Barcarès?

Take a walk along the streets and trails of Barcarès. Don’t miss the fishing cabin of Coudalère, which became a listed historical monument in 1994. Take yourself off to Barcarès beach and admire the symbol of the town, the liner known as The Lydia, which has been stuck in the sand for years.

A rather special climate

The seaside resort of Barcarès offers a very pleasant climate. Not far from the Spanish coast, the Mediterranean's increasing temperature results in a sea breeze that remains relatively warm. In summer, evening is the best time of day, from dusk till dawn. Spend pleasant nights on our Barcarès campsite and enjoy your dream holiday.
